Australia’s only dedicated creative industries incubator is continuing to expand its fashion mentoring program to nourish Australia’s emerging fashion talent.
The Incubator today announced the introduction of an accelerator program for Australian designers wishing to grow their brand and receive expert training and advice on how to turn a creative effort into a successful business.
CEA Fashion Incubator will be holding panel interviews to find suitable participants for the Fashion Business Accelerator Program, and will be looking for designers that have a clear revenue model and understanding of their customer.
Cynthia Macnee, CEA Fashion Incubator Manager said the Incubator is on the hunt for designers with demonstrable talent, business acumen, and commitment to growing and expand internationally.
“We will be looking for designers who not only have a unique and strong design presence but also the drive and willingness to develop the business acumen they need to survive and thrive in Australia’s fashion industry and internationally,” said Cynthia.
The new accelerator program encourages fashion designers to evaluate their place in the market, how they are going to develop their business and what they need to accomplish growth.
“Often designers don’t plan for growth so when the opportunity to scale up arises, they don’t either have the infrastructure, funds or team around them to be able to do that.
“The CEA Fashion Incubator accelerator program plays a key role in helping to address these issues and boost the Australian fashion industry, and the support is an absolute necessity for young designers in today’s competitive world.”
CEA Fashion Incubator provides everything for fashion entrepreneurs, from inexpensive work space and shared production equipment to mentoring with industry professionals and educational seminars.
“Once accepted into the program the designers will receive business mentoring from some of the fashion industry’s leading tastemakers and business executives,” said Cynthia.
“The selected designers will have access to one-on-one expert consultations, hands-on practical workshops and a range of industry events and opportunities.”
Aiming to galvanise the fertile fashion frontier of Brisbane, the CEA Fashion Incubator helps young fashion designers to build their fledging businesses to hopeful success.
“The four programs are designed to nurture exceptional fashion labels and help them to grow their businesses organically and in a sustainable manner to build resilience and long-term success,” said Cynthia.
“Our mission is to help ambitious talented designers who have already developed a credible brand within Australia access the business and industry advice and networks they need to grow their business.”
The CEA Fashion Incubator will continue to provide ongoing mentoring and support for emerging designers through its other programs and small run production support through its dedicated production facility The Stitch Lab.
